Decorative bed linen,
designed with detail
Embroidered flat sheet sets, tailored pillowcases and quilt cover sets in long staple cotton sateen. Satin stitch embroidery, tailored borders and carefully considered colour bring detail to the bed while keeping the overall look clean and understated.
Each design is created to work with plain white bed linen as well as other pieces within the collection, making it easy to build a layered bed over time.

The designs
Five distinctive designs, made to work together
Our decorative collection brings together embroidery, tailored borders and print across flat sheets, pillowcases and quilt covers.
Each design has its own character, but the collection is built around a restrained palette and white cotton sateen, allowing decorative pieces to be combined easily with our plain white and Classique bed linen.
Rattan
Rattan features a geometric border inspired by woven cane, embroidered in warm fawn against white cotton sateen. The softer neutral colour works particularly well with timber, natural fibres and warm, understated interiors.

Detail
The tailored flange
Rattan pillowcases are finished with a wide tailored flange and envelope closure, so the border sits flat and the pillow stays neatly covered.
Pairs with
Warm neutrals
Layer Rattan over plain white bed linen with a throw in oat or fawn. The embroidered border does the decorative work.
Siena
Siena uses a structured geometric embroidery along the flat sheet header and pillowcase cuffs.
In White, the embroidery creates subtle texture against the white sateen. In Blu, the same design introduces a soft line of blue while keeping the bed fresh and predominantly white.

Colourways
One design, two expressions
Choose White for quiet tone on tone texture, or Blu for a soft line of colour. The placement is identical, so both read as the same considered design.
Rhodes
Rhodes features a traditional Grecian meander border embroidered in soft blue against white cotton sateen.
The clean geometric design gives the bed definition without overwhelming it and works particularly well in classic, coastal and blue and white interiors.

The motif
The Grecian meander
One of the oldest decorative borders, the meander runs as a single unbroken line. Its clean geometry suits both classic and contemporary rooms.
Pairs with
Blue and white schemes
Rhodes sits naturally alongside Siena Blu and Willow, and against plain white bedding it reads crisp rather than ornate.
Willow
Willow is our interpretation of traditional blue and white porcelain. The original artwork was hand painted before being translated onto white cotton sateen.
The tailored pillowcases are finished with blue satin stitch embroidery around the flange, bringing a structured finish to the softer printed design.

The artwork
Painted before printed
The Willow artwork was hand painted first, then translated onto cotton sateen, keeping the movement of the original brushwork.
The finish
Print, then stitch
Blue satin stitch around the pillowcase flange frames the printed design and ties Willow back to the embroidered collection.
Manhattan
Manhattan was designed to create a more tailored, architectural bed.
Deep navy or soft nickel borders are finished with two precise lines of satin stitch. Flat sheets carry the colour across the header, while the quilt covers use a mitred border to frame the bed.
The result is crisp and structured, with enough contrast to define the white bed linen without making the design feel overly decorative.

Construction
The detail is in the finish
Decorative bed linen depends on the quality of its finishing. Our embroidered designs use dense satin stitch in colourfast viscose rayon thread. The close stitching creates a clean, defined edge with a subtle lustre against the cotton sateen.
The placement of each border is considered as part of the finished piece. Flat sheets have deep decorative headers, pillowcases use tailored flanges and Manhattan quilt covers are finished with mitred borders to create a clean frame around the bed.
Sheet headers are embroidered as separate panels before being sewn to the sheet. This allows the embroidery to be positioned accurately and the border to align properly with the finished construction. Read more about this approach in Tailored Fit Explained.

How to layer decorative bed linen
Tonal
For a predominantly white bed, use tonal embroidery such as Siena White. The embroidery adds texture and definition while keeping the overall look quiet and understated.
Contrast
Manhattan Navy or Nickel, Rattan Fawn and Siena Blu introduce colour while still keeping white as the dominant element. A single bordered piece is often enough to give the bed structure.
Layered
Fold an embroidered flat sheet over a plain white quilt cover, add tailored pillowcases behind your sleeping pillows and finish with a throw or bedspread at the foot of the bed. Keeping the larger pieces simple allows the embroidery and borders to provide the detail.
Rattan Fawn works particularly well with warm neutrals and natural textures. Siena Blu and Rhodes suit blue and white schemes, while Manhattan Navy and Nickel create a more tailored, graphic finish.
Design philosophy
Decoration with purpose
We design embroidery and borders as part of the whole bed rather than as separate decorative details. The scale, position and colour of each finish is considered so flat sheets, quilt covers and pillowcases can be layered together without the bed becoming overly decorated.
Our Classique collection takes the same approach across a broader range of coordinated pieces. Quilt covers, flat sheets and pillowcases are designed to create a continuous bordered composition across the bed, with embroidered options in White, Navy, Pewter and Ebony.
Questions
Embroidered bedding, answered
Questions about embroidery, styling, care and sizing, answered in full.
What is embroidered bed linen?
Embroidered bed linen uses stitched thread to create a decorative border or motif rather than relying on printed pattern alone.
Our embroidered designs use satin stitch, a dense stitch that creates a smooth, defined line of colour against the cotton sateen.
What type of thread is used for the embroidery?
We use colourfast viscose rayon embroidery thread. It has a subtle lustre that contrasts beautifully with cotton sateen and produces the clean, defined finish required for our borders and geometric designs.
Can embroidered sheets be machine washed?
Yes. Machine wash at 30 to 40°C using liquid detergent. Avoid optical brighteners and fabric softeners.
Tumble dry on medium and remove slightly damp, or line dry in the shade. If ironing is required, iron embroidery on the reverse at a medium temperature.
How should I style embroidered bedding?
Start with white bed linen and introduce one decorative element.
An embroidered flat sheet folded over a plain white quilt cover is an easy way to add detail. Alternatively, tailored pillowcases or a bordered quilt cover can provide the main decorative element while the remaining pieces stay simple.
Can I mix embroidered and plain white bed linen?
Yes. In fact, this is how we often style our own beds.
The collection is designed around white cotton sateen, making decorative and plain white pieces easy to layer together. You do not need a complete matching set for the bed to feel considered.
Are the fabrics tested for harmful substances?
Testing and certification vary by design.
Manhattan pieces are verified under EU REACH or tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Willow is printed using OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified dyes. The applicable testing or certification is listed on individual product pages.
Which sizes are available?
Sizes vary by design and product.
Many flat sheet sets and quilt cover sets are available in Queen and King, while tailored pillowcases are generally sold as standard pairs. Current sizes are shown on each product page.

Longevity
Designed beyond seasons
Our decorative collections are deliberately restrained in colour and design so they can be used for many years and combined with pieces you already own.
Rather than changing the collection each season, we design bed linen that can be added to over time. A bordered pillowcase, embroidered flat sheet or quilt cover bought today should still sit comfortably alongside pieces added years from now.
