400TC Long-Staple
Cotton Sateen

The Classique range is cut from 400TC single-ply long-staple cotton sateen, a 4/1 sateen weave that produces a smooth, light-catching surface without the heaviness of multi-ply fabrics. Long-staple cotton fibres are longer, stronger and finer than standard cotton, producing a fabric that softens with every wash rather than pilling or degrading. The embroidery is worked in 100% viscose rayon thread, selected for its exceptional lustre and colourfastness, the stitch maintains its depth and definition through repeated washing.

What thread count is the Classique range?

The Classique range is 400TC single pick insertion, single ply. This is a 4/1 sateen weave using long-staple cotton fibres. Single-ply means each thread is a single yarn rather than multiple yarns twisted together. The result is a lighter, more breathable fabric with a cleaner surface than multi-ply alternatives at the same thread count.

What sizes does Classique come in?

Quilt cover sets are available in Queen, King and Super King though Navy and Grey are available in Queen and King only. Flat sheet sets are available in Queen, King and Super King across all colourways. Standard tailored pillowcases (50 × 75 cm) and king pillowcases (50 × 90 cm) are available in most colourways. Euro pillowcases (65 × 65 cm) are sold individually. All sizes are Australian standard.

Where does the embroidery sit on the quilt cover?

On the quilt cover, the dual satin-stitch lines run down both sides and across the base, a three-sided frame with a corner motif at each lower corner where the lines meet. The top edge is left plain and the hidden button closure sits on the reverse, keeping the top of the quilt completely uninterrupted. On the included pillowcases, the embroidery runs on all four sides with a corner motif at each corner.

Can I mix colourways across the Classique range?

Yes all Classique pieces use the same 400TC long-staple cotton sateen base fabric, so the ground cloth is consistent across colourways. A common approach is to use white or tonal king pillowcases with a contrasting quilt cover, or to mix a Pewter flat sheet with an Ebony quilt cover. Because the embroidery pattern is identical across all colourways, the design language remains cohesive even when thread colours differ.

Does the embroidery fade with washing?

Never! The embroidery is worked in 100% viscose rayon thread, which is specifically selected for its colourfastness. Washed at 30–40°C on a gentle cycle with liquid detergent, the thread maintains its depth and lustre over time.

What is the difference between the tailored, king and euro pillowcases?

The tailored pillowcase (50 × 75 cm) fits a standard Australian pillow insert and is sold as a pair. The king pillowcase (50 × 90 cm) fits a king insert and is also sold as a pair, it has the same all-four-sides embroidered border but a longer. The euro pillowcase (65 × 65 cm) is a square format sold individually. The White Euro bordered style includes a top-stitched flange that mirrors the quilt cover construction, it is the only euro in the range with this detail.

How does Classique fit Australian mattress sizes?

All Classique sizing follows the Australian standard. Queen quilt covers are 210 × 210 cm, King are 245 × 210 cm, and Super King are 270 × 240 cm.
