The chinoiserie scenes are drawn by New Zealand artist Maggie Lam and printed onto a white cotton base, then quilted and finished with contrast piping around the full edge. At 240 x 260 cm it covers both queen and king, laid flat across the bed or folded at the foot.
Description
The same comforter as Lyon in its construction, carrying the Willow print: a hand-painted artwork drawn from eighteenth-century blue and white porcelain.
It reads as pattern from across the room and as brushwork up close. On an otherwise white bed it is enough on its own, which is usually how it is best used.

A comforter is a top-of-bed layer rather than a replacement for a quilt. Lay it flat over a made bed for a crisp finish, or fold it across the foot to add height and texture. Sized to cover both queen and king beds.

Fabric & construction
The comforter
Built up in plies rather than simply filled. A lightweight cotton interlining sits behind the printed face and the quilting runs through every layer, which keeps the fill evenly distributed and stops it migrating into the corners over time. The contrast piping is set into the seam around the full perimeter, giving the edge a defined line and helping the comforter hold its shape rather than spilling over the sides of the bed.
The artwork
The chinoiserie scenes are hand-illustrated by New Zealand artist Maggie Lam, drawn before being printed rather than assembled from existing motifs. That is why the pattern carries depth and movement across the width of the bed instead of repeating flatly. Blue and white has a long history in decorative textiles, and it sits against plain white bedding without competing with it.
Dry and store out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure will lift a printed colour long before it affects anything else.

Care
Machine wash warm
Wash in warm water at 40C and rinse well. Use liquid detergent. Powder detergents and fabric softeners coat cotton fibres and dull a printed face over time.
Line dry in shade, or tumble on low
Dry out of direct sunlight. If tumble drying, use a low setting and remove while slightly damp.
Do not bleach or dry clean
Neither suits a printed cotton face or the polyester fill. Avoid optical brighteners for the same reason.

Yes. Machine wash in warm water at 40C and rinse well, then line dry in the shade or tumble dry on low. Do not bleach and do not dry clean. Given the finished size, a large capacity machine is easier on both the comforter and the machine.
