Classique Tailored Pillowcases - White
The Classique Tailored Pillowcase in White is cut from 400TC long-staple cotton sateen with dual white satin-stitch embroidery. The bordered design runs on all four sides of the front face, a clean, tonal finish that works across every Classique colourway.
Description
These pillowcases are designed to sit as part of a complete bed, rather than as a standalone piece. The proportion of the flange and placement of the embroidery are calibrated to align with the Classique quilt cover, creating a consistent frame across both the pillows and the base of the bed.
They can also be used independently to introduce structure to an otherwise plain setting. Paired with a flat sheet or layered with additional pillows, they bring a controlled edge that defines the bed without relying on contrast or colour.

Fabric & construction
The pillowcase
The Classique pillowcases are cut from 400TC single-ply long-staple cotton sateen and sized at 50 × 75cm for a standard Australian pillow insert, 50 × 90cm for King, and 65 × 65cm for European. A top-stitched flange runs close to the embroidered border on all four sides, adding structure to the perimeter without bulk. The envelope closure sits on the reverse, leaving the front uninterrupted. The pillowcase softens progressively with each wash while holding its shape over time.
The embroidery
Two parallel satin-stitch lines in colourfast white viscose rayon thread run along all four sides of the front face, meeting at each corner in a defined corner motif. The thread is the same tone as the fabric, the border reveals itself through the raised stitch and the way it catches light, rather than through contrast.
The structure is in the flange. The embroidery is what you notice when the light crosses the bed.

Care
Wash cold or warm
30–40°C on a gentle cycle. Use liquid detergent only as powder detergents and fabric softeners coat the cotton fibres and gradually dull the sateen surface and reduce its natural breathability over time.
Tumble dry medium
Remove while still slightly damp. The sateen surface smooths naturally as the fabric cools, reducing the need for ironing. Avoid over-drying as heat-set creases are harder to remove than those from line drying.
Improves with washing
Long-staple cotton settles into the weave with each wash, becoming progressively smoother and softer over time. The viscose rayon embroidery thread is colourfast and maintains its depth wash after wash.
Common questions
Why does the pillowcase have an envelope closure?
The envelope closure keeps the pillow contained without buttons, ties or an exposed opening on the face of the pillowcase. It also allows the embroidered front and four-sided border to remain uninterrupted.
Can White pillowcases be used with a coloured Classique quilt cover?
Yes. Every Classique colourway is made on the same white cotton sateen, so White pillowcases sit with an Ebony, Navy, Pewter or Grey cover without introducing a different cloth. Keeping white at the front is a way of using a bordered quilt cover without carrying colour across every layer.
How do I keep the white sateen looking its best?
Wash at 30–40°C on a gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent and rinse well. Avoid bleach and optical brighteners, which can affect the appearance and finish of the cotton and embroidery over time.
