Andes Alpaca & Wool Bouclé Throw - Ash
The Ash Andes throw is defined by its refined bouclé construction, a tighter, more uniform weave that creates a smoother surface and a more controlled drape. Woven in Peru from a blend of alpaca and wool, it carries warmth without weight, with the fibre’s natural softness and insulation working quietly in the background. Chosen by interior designers across Australia.
Description
Ash is a cooler grey tone within the Andes alpaca bouclé throw, bringing subtle depth without becoming heavy and allowing it to anchor lighter palettes with a refined, understated presence. The bouclé construction breaks up the surface, giving the alpaca fibres movement and preventing the tone from reading flat.
Placed across the bed or layered into a living space, it creates a more grounded composition where texture and tone work together quietly rather than competing for attention. It’s a colour that adds structure without contrast, particularly suited to contemporary or tonal interiors.

Bouclé Weave
The Ash Andes throw is woven in Peru from an alpaca and wool blend, giving the fabric warmth, softness and resilience. Its light bouclé construction creates a fine looped surface with a tighter, more uniform texture than a heavier bouclé. The result is a throw with gentle loft, natural insulation and a controlled drape that sits neatly across the bed, sofa or armchair. Finished with a 120mm knotted fringe at both ends, formed directly from the warp threads of the loom.
The colour
Ash is a soft grey with a calm, architectural quality. It works beautifully with white cotton bedding, deeper charcoal tones, pale timber, stone and brushed metal finishes. The colour is deliberately understated, allowing the bouclé texture to create depth without becoming visually heavy.
The lighter bouclé pulls the texture in, so Ash reads as a surface rather than a statement.

Care
Hand wash only
Cool water with a mild wool detergent. Avoid powder detergents and fabric softeners — these coat natural fibres and reduce softness over time.
Do not tumble dry
Do not wring. Lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight to preserve the fibre structure and the shape of the weave.
Improves with care
Natural alpaca fibres soften progressively with each gentle wash. Correct care extends the life of the throw significantly.
Common questions
What is a bouclé weave?
Bouclé is a looped yarn construction that gives the surface a softly textured appearance. In this throw, the bouclé is light and controlled rather than bulky, creating texture without excessive weight.
Is alpaca warmer than wool?
Alpaca fibres are partially hollow, which helps trap warmth while keeping the throw lighter than many traditional wool blankets. The wool in this blend adds structure and resilience, while the alpaca provides softness and natural insulation.
What size bed does this throw suit?
At 150 × 240 cm, the Andes throw works well across the foot of a Queen, King or Super King bed. It can also be folded lengthwise for a narrower decorative layer or used generously across a sofa.
Is Ash a warm or cool grey?
Ash is a soft, cool neutral grey with enough depth to hold its shape on the bed or sofa. It pairs especially well with white, charcoal, stone, oatmeal and muted natural tones.
