Cloud Bath Towels White - Woven in Turkey
A bamboo and cotton bath towel woven in Turkey, with the Cloud pattern built into a woven border at each end and a fine satin band between the border and the pile. White on white, so the design reads as texture. 70 x 150 cm.
Description
The Cloud bath towel is woven in Turkey from a bamboo and cotton blend, with the Cloud pattern built into a woven border at each end and a fine satin band between the border and the pile. The long edges are woven selvedges rather than cut and stitched. 70 × 150 cm.
White on white, so the design reads as texture rather than contrast. Bamboo cotton dries out between uses rather than holding damp in the pile, so these towels don't develop the smell a cotton towel can. A Flaxfield design, in production since 2008.

Fabric & construction
The weave
Woven in Turkey from a bamboo and cotton blend on a jacquard loom, so the Cloud pattern is built into the structure of the cloth rather than printed onto it. A fine satin band is woven between the patterned border and the body pile, separating the two. The long edges are woven selvedges rather than cut and stitched, so there is no raw edge to fray.
Bamboo cotton
These are a bamboo and cotton blend rather than pure cotton, and they do not develop the smell cotton towels can. They dry out between uses instead of holding damp in the pile. The blend also gives the surface a smoother handle than cotton alone, without the crispness a heavy cotton towel has when new.

Care
Machine wash warm
Wash at 30–40°C with a mild liquid detergent. Wash new towels before first use.
No fabric softener or bleach
Softener coats the pile and reduces absorbency. Bleach and optical brighteners weaken the fibre over time.
Tumble dry low
Tumble on low to medium, or line dry. Shake the towel out before drying to lift the pile.
Common questions
How do I keep white towels looking white?
Wash at 30–40°C with a mild liquid detergent, and dry them properly rather than leaving them damp in a basket. Avoid bleach and optical brighteners, which weaken the fibre over time and can leave the pile looking flat.
Why is there a satin band above the border?
It is woven in as part of the design, separating the patterned Cloud border from the body pile so the two read as distinct rather than running into one another. On a white towel it is the detail that shows, since there is no colour contrast doing the work.
How do these feel compared with a pure cotton towel?
Smoother. The bamboo in the blend gives the pile a softer, more fluid handle than cotton alone, without the crispness a heavy cotton towel has when it is new. They also feel lighter in the hand for the same drying capacity.
