Description
Euros change the shape of a bed rather than its colour. Standing upright behind the sleeping pillows, they give the head of the bed height and a straight back edge, which is the difference between a bed that looks made and one that looks flat.
In Nickel the frame adds that structure without adding a second colour, so it works behind either Manhattan colourway and on a plain white bed alike.
About the embroidery
The embroidery is worked in colourfast viscose rayon satin stitch.
On flat sheets and cuffed pillowcases the embroidered panel is cut, embroidered and folded before it is sewn to the piece, so the border is placed against a known edge rather than stitched into a finished sheet. On tailored pillowcases the border is worked into the face and framed by the flange stitching.
Iron the embroidery on the reverse at a medium temperature. Avoid optical brighteners and fabric softeners.

What a euro does
A European pillowcase is square, at 65 x 65 cm, and it is not for sleeping on. It stands upright behind the standard pillows and gives the head of the bed height and a defined back edge, so the stack reads as deliberate rather than as a slump against the bed head. On a Queen a pair is enough. On a King, three sit across the width without crowding.
The border
The same frame and two lines of satin stitch as the rest of Manhattan, worked here in a tonal grey on a square rather than a rectangle. Grey against white is read as much through the lustre of the stitch as through the colour itself, so a Nickel euro adds structure at the head of the bed without adding a second colour to the room.

Care
Machine wash 30 to 40C
Wash with a liquid detergent. Avoid optical brighteners and fabric softeners.
Tumble medium or line dry
Tumble dry on medium and remove slightly damp, or line dry in the shade.
Iron on the reverse
Iron the satin stitch on the reverse at a medium temperature.
Do not bleach
Bleach and optical brighteners are not suitable for the sateen or the embroidery thread.
