Classique White & Grey Quilt Cover Set
The Classique Grey quilt cover is the considered choice between tonal and dark. The grey satin stitch gives the bed a clear, readable frame; more defined than white-on-white, less demanding than the darker colourways. The embroidery runs down both sides and across the base, with corner motifs at each corner. The pillowcases complete the outline across all four sides. It works with almost any interior direction without requiring the rest of the room to respond.
Description
Grey moderates the scale of the quilt cover, softening the visual impact of the bed without reducing its structure. The tone moves easily across different materials and palettes, allowing the bed to integrate rather than dominate.
Across a larger surface, it creates a quieter composition where the focus shifts from colour to proportion and alignment.

Fabric & construction
The cover
The Classique quilt cover is cut from 400TC single-ply long-staple cotton sateen, smooth and light-catching without the heaviness of multi-ply fabrics. A 7.5cm flange is top-stitched on all four sides, adding structure and drape to the cover on the bed. The hidden button closure sits at the top, keeping the front face clean. The cover softens progressively with each wash while holding its shape over time.
The embroidery
The embroidery is positioned along the sides and base to define the bed without enclosing it fully. Each corner is stitched as a discrete point, maintaining a clean transition where lines meet. The pillowcases complete the outline, forming a structured and continuous frame. Grey sits in the range between tonal white and the darker colourways, it gives the bed a clear frame without pushing the contrast into territory that requires the rest of the room to respond.
It defines the bed without pushing the contrast too far.

Care
Wash cold or warm
30–40°C on a gentle cycle. Use liquid detergent only — powder detergents and fabric softeners coat the cotton fibres and gradually dull the sateen surface and reduce its natural breathability over time.
Tumble dry medium
Remove while still slightly damp. The sateen surface smooths naturally as the fabric cools, reducing the need for ironing. Avoid over-drying — heat-set creases are harder to remove than those from line drying.
Improves with washing
Long-staple cotton settles into the weave with each wash, becoming progressively smoother and softer over time. The viscose rayon embroidery thread is colourfast and maintains its depth wash after wash.
Common questions
What is included in the quilt cover set?
Each set includes one quilt cover (also known as a duvet cover) and two standard pillowcases (50 × 75 cm), available in Queen, King and Super King sizes. The quilt cover features a concealed button closure, while the pillowcases are finished with an envelope closure. A flat sheet and additional pillowcases are available separately within the Classique Bed Linen.
Where does the embroidery sit on the duvet cover and pillowcases?
On the quilt cover, two satin stitch lines run down both sides and across the base, meeting at each lower corner in a defined corner motif. The underside of the cover is left plain, with the concealed button placket positioned on the reverse. On the pillowcases, the satin stitch continues along all four sides, with a corner motif at each corner. When the bed is fully made, the embroidery frames it from every angle.
Why a hidden button closure rather than a zip?
A zip requires a reinforced seam that interrupts the clean line of the embroidered base. Zips also introduce a rigid component into the fabricwhich over time they can warp, catch on the weave or fail under tension, particularly when the duvet insert is being put in or removed. The Classique quilt cover uses a hidden button closure instead. The buttons sit flush within a concealed placket on the back face at the bottom of the cover, away from the embroidered sides and base entirely. This placement protects the buttons from direct stress during use and washing, keeping them enclosed and reducing the risk of damage or snagging. They are not visible when the bed is made and have no effect on the embroidered design.
What size quilt insert fits this cover?
Use a quilt insert that matches the cover size. Queen insert for the Queen cover, King for King, Super King for Super King. Australian quilt insert dimensions are standardised to match these covers. Using an oversized insert will strain the button closure; using an undersized insert will cause the cover to bunch and lose its shape on the bed. For full sizing guidance see our Australian bed linen size guide.
Does this quilt cover work with the Classique flat sheet set?
Yes the Classique range is designed to layer together. The quilt cover and matching flat sheet set are cut from the same 400TC long-staple cotton sateen and use the same colourfast viscose rayon embroidery thread, so the embroidery reads consistently across the complete bed.
Will the grey embroidery shift in tone over time?
The grey thread is selected for tonal consistency, maintaining its character over time without shifting warmer or losing definition through washing. The colourfast viscose rayon construction holds the cool, precise tone that makes this colourway work as a neutral, it does not drift toward beige or greige with repeated laundering.
