The Andes Alpaca & Wool Light Bouclé Throw in Chalk is woven in Peru from an alpaca and wool blend, with a lighter bouclé construction that keeps the surface refined and controlled. The warmer ivory tone lifts the texture, making it ideal for softer interiors where light, tone and material need to work together rather than contrast.

Description

Chalk sits as a soft, neutral base within the Andes alpaca bouclé throw, holding a clean tone without appearing stark, allowing it to layer easily across both warm and cool interiors. The bouclé texture becomes the focus, with the looped surface catching light gently rather than relying on colour to define the throw.

Used across the bed or folded over a sofa, it creates a light, open composition where texture carries the detail and the overall look remains calm and considered. It’s a colour that lifts the palette without drawing attention to itself, particularly suited to minimal or tonal spaces.

The twill weave

Woven in Peru from an alpaca and wool blend, the Chalk Andes throw uses a lighter bouclé construction with finer loops and a more uniform surface. This creates a softer, more refined texture than heavier bouclé weaves, while still retaining warmth and loft. The structure allows the throw to drape cleanly without bulk, making it suitable for both bed layering and living spaces.

The colour

Nickel is a calm mid-tone grey, cool, understated and easy to layer with both warm and cool interiors. It adds warmth without competing with what is already in the room. It pairs particularly well with the Orcia quilted duvet cover, where the palazzo-quilted structure of the Orcia provides a refined base for the smooth drape of the Nickel Selva.

Chalk softens the bouclé completely, letting the texture sit in the light rather than against it.

Hand wash only

Cool water with a mild wool detergent. Avoid powder detergents and fabric softeners — these coat natural fibres and reduce softness over time.

Do not tumble dry

Do not wring. Lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight to preserve the fibre structure and the shape of the weave.

Improves with care

Natural alpaca fibres soften progressively with each gentle wash. Correct care extends the life of the throw significantly.

What is a bouclé weave?

Bouclé is a looped yarn construction that creates a textured surface. In this lighter bouclé, the loops are tighter and more controlled, giving texture without heaviness.

Is alpaca warmer than wool?

Yes, for its weight. Alpaca fibre has a partially hollow core that provides excellent insulation without the density of wool. It also contains no lanolin, the compound in sheep's wool that can cause irritation, making it naturally gentler on sensitive skin. The Andes blend of 89% alpaca and 11% wool gives the throw both warmth and structural resilience.

What size bed does the Andes throw suit?

At 150 × 240 cm the Andes has a generous length that works folded across the foot of a queen or king bed, or draped fully over a sofa. Its elongated proportions make it one of the more versatile throw sizes for both bedroom and living room use.
