Classique King Pillowcases - White with Ebony Stitch
The Classique King Pillowcase in White with Ebony Stitch is cut from 400TC long-staple cotton sateen with dual black satin-stitch embroidery. The high-contrast bordered design on the longer king format makes a strong, considered statement at the head of a king bed.
Description
On a King bed, Ebony establishes a strong horizontal anchor across the head of the bed. The extended width allows the colour to read as a defined line, giving the overall composition a sense of precision and control.
It works best where the bed is intended to hold focus, using the scale of the pillowcases to reinforce structure rather than relying on additional layers.

Fabric & construction
The pillowcase
The Classique pillowcases are cut from 400TC single-ply long-staple cotton sateen and sized at 50 × 75cm for a standard Australian pillow insert, 50 × 90cm for King, and 65 × 65cm for European. A top-stitched flange runs close to the embroidered border on all four sides, adding structure to the perimeter without bulk. The envelope closure sits on the reverse, leaving the front uninterrupted. The pillowcase softens progressively with each wash while holding its shape over time.
The embroidery
Two parallel satin-stitch lines in colourfast viscose rayon thread run along all four sides of the front face, meeting at each corner in a defined corner motif. The surrounding flange is top-stitched just inside the embroidery so the two elements frame the face together. When the bed is made up, the tailored pillowcases continue the bordered embroidery from the quilt cover as a cohesive, unbroken design.

Care
Wash cold or warm
30–40°C on a gentle cycle. Use liquid detergent only as powder detergents and fabric softeners coat the cotton fibres and gradually dull the sateen surface and reduce its natural breathability over time.
Tumble dry medium
Remove while still slightly damp. The sateen surface smooths naturally as the fabric cools, reducing the need for ironing. Avoid over-drying as heat-set creases are harder to remove than those from line drying.
Improves with washing
Long-staple cotton settles into the weave with each wash, becoming progressively smoother and softer over time. The viscose rayon embroidery thread is colourfast and maintains its depth wash after wash.
Common questions
What is the difference between a King and a standard pillowcase?
Length. A King pillowcase is 50 × 90 cm against a standard 50 × 75 cm, so it takes a longer pillow and covers more of the width of a large bed. The construction is otherwise identical: the same flange, the same four-sided embroidery and the same envelope closure.
Can I use Classique King pillowcases on a Super King bed?
Yes. The 50 × 90 cm size refers to the pillow rather than the mattress, so the same King pillowcase can be used on either a King or Super King bed. The longer proportion gives more width across the head of a larger bed than a standard 50 × 75 cm pillowcase.
How strong does the ebony stitch look on a white bed?
The ebony is worked as a fine border on white cotton sateen, so it defines the edge of the pillow rather than adding a block of colour. It is a way of giving a white bed some definition without changing its overall tone.
