Description

The Sala Lounge Blanket is knitted from 100% cotton in a moss stitch, framed by a 3.5 cm smooth band of tight rib that keeps the edges flat and square. At 220 × 240 cm and 3.1 kg it is generously sized and has real weight to it, without the warmth of wool.

Grey Melange is a softly marled grey, blending lighter and darker fibres for natural depth and texture. Cotton breathes rather than insulates, so the blanket works as a light layer in summer and over a quilt in cooler months. Presented in a Flaxfield gift box.

The knit

Knitted from 100% cotton in a moss stitch, which gives the surface its texture and a little give. A 3.5 cm smooth band of tight rib runs around all four sides, so the edges stay flat and the blanket holds its shape rather than curling. At 3.1 kg it has real weight to it, while cotton breathes rather than insulates, so it can be used through the year.

Grey Melange

A softly marled grey, blending lighter and darker fibres for natural depth and texture. The marl adds movement across the knit, so it reads as more textural than the flat greys. Dyed with Oeko-Tex certified dyes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does marled mean?
Marled yarn is spun from fibres of more than one shade, so the finished knit carries both. On Grey Melange that means lighter and darker greys through the same surface, giving it depth rather than a flat, even colour.
Does the moss stitch snag?
Moss stitch is a dense, closely worked structure without long floats across the surface, so there is little for a ring or a zip to catch. Washing the blanket separately, as the care label advises, keeps it away from hooks and fastenings in the machine.
Which bed linen does Grey Melange suit?
It works most easily with white and off-white, where the marl reads as texture rather than colour. Against the Classique white and grey satin stitch it picks up the same cool tone at a different scale.
