Resort Quilted European Pillowcase - Mushroom
A quilted European pillowcase at 65 x 65 cm, finished with covered corded piping to the edge. Cotton face, cotton wadding, and a concealed zip set into the side seam so nothing interrupts the front. Sized to sit behind standard pillows and give the stack its height.
Description
A euro pillowcase is what gives a bed height. Sitting behind the standard pillows, it lifts the stack and gives the head of the bed a defined back edge rather than a slump.
It is quilted lighter than the bedspread it matches, so the pillow behind it still behaves like a pillow. Mushroom is a warm neutral, which lets the quilting read as texture rather than as a block of colour.
About the quilting
Each quilted pillowcase is quilted through the whole face, with a soft batting held between the face cloth and a cotton backing.

Fabric & construction
The pillowcase
Quilted through a cotton face and a cotton fibre wadding at 150gsm, deliberately lighter than the bedspread so the pillow behind it still reads as a pillow rather than a board. The geometric quilting matches the Resort bedspread, so a made bed carries one pattern from the pillows down.
The piping
The edge is finished with covered corded piping, fed through a folder with the cord running in a tube so it sits centred in its cover rather than roping or twisting inside it. The join is placed on the bottom zip edge, the one edge you never see once the pillow is on the bed. Corners are eased so the cord runs evenly around the turn instead of bunching at the angle.

Care
Machine wash 30 to 40C
Cold or warm machine wash with a mild liquid detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, which coat cotton fibres and flatten the quilted surface.
Tumble dry medium
Dry on medium heat, or line dry out of direct sunlight.
